I hardly travelled abroad between 1993 and 2001, mainly for financial reasons (it's hard to be a student ). In January 2001, I was sent to attend a conference in Shizuoka, Japan. Who would have refused such an opportunity? I took advantage of this situation and visited Osaka and Kyoto as well as Shizuoka.

If you have to spend 13 hours on a plane and deal with 8hours time difference, you'd better plan to visit the maximum of sites in the country.
