Although I lived in the East of France for 5 years, I never had the opportunity to go and visit Belgium. I had to be based in Ireland to finally to take a trip to the "flat country" (as it is sometimes called). There are some nice and unexpected spots to see in this little country, especially in the city of Bruges, which remains my favourite Belgian town!
Foodwise, you will be able to taste chocolates from our friend "Jeff" in Bruges, savour waffles on the Grand-Place in Brussels and for the amateur drinkers, enjoy a sip of a freshly brewed beer (remember, enjoy alcohol sensibly ).
In order to enjoy the Belgium sites to the full, a good idea is to be based in a youth hostel in any of the main Belgian Cities (for those travelling on a small budget) or in a hotel if your budget is a bit more flexible (for example, see Design Hotels). In any case, it will not be very difficult to find a suitable accommodation in Belgium for you and your family.
You will find some links below, which will allow you to see some photos of Belgium... |
