Welcome to the North West of France!

The roots of my family can be found in Brittany and like our gallic heros Asterix and Obelix, most of my relatives still lives thereSmiley. While I have never lived in Brittany myself, I spent most of my summer holidays there between 1975 and 1997,

On this page, I'm suggesting to visit the North West of France in 2 regions: Brittany and Normandy.

Brittany: Here you can find a selection of photos taken in Brittany, near Brest, Lorient, Guingamp, Rennes and Saint-Quay-Portrieux.

Normandy: Here are some photos taken on the famous site of Mont Saint-Michel. While it is superb and impressive, the site is also a victim of its own success. In summer, its streets and laneways are packed with tourists and you may have to queue over 30 minutes to visit the abbey. If you're thinking of visiting it, my advice is: go off season, on a week daySmiley.
